The 2018 Jaguar Simola Hillclimb delivered an enthralling mix of thrills and excitement, with some stunning new records being set on the Simola Hill – both amongst the competitors’ times, as well as the number of spectators attending the three-day event.
The opening day of the King of the Hill challenge at the 2018 Jaguar Simola Hillclimb lived up to its highly anticipated levels of action and excitement, with all the competitors having had this year’s first taste of adrenaline-fuelled speed and fury on the short but testing 1.9 km Simola Hill course.
The 2018 Jaguar Simola Hillclimb weekend got off to a spectacular start today with Classic Car Friday delivering its usual enthralling mix of iconic cars and drivers, and plenty of on-track action. Franco Scribante once again stamped his authority on the event by taking his fourth Classic Conqueror title, and his third in a row, after yet another dominant performance in his immaculately prepared 1970 Chevron B19.
The 2018 Jaguar Simola Hillclimb, which takes place in Knysna from 3 to 6 May, is expected to attract over 17 000 spectators this year – although many thousands more local and international enthusiasts will be wishing they could join the action and excitement of South Africa’s premier motoring and motorsport lifestyle event.
