We hope that your preparations for the upcoming Simola Hillclimb are going well, and that you are as excited as we are to be racing again on the Simola Hill!
Please read this communication carefully in preparation!
BEFORE YOU GET TO THE EVENT
- Our Welcome Centre will be at the Knysna Bowling Club. A map can be found here. This is where you will collect your accreditation for access to the event grounds between 2-4 May. No accreditation is required prior to 2 May.
- Entry list: The 2025 Entry lists will be published in mid-April.
- Programme of Events: Please check the latest Event Schedule.
AT THE EVENT
- MAP – View the 2025 Orientation map here.
- Electricity in the Pit Lane – Generators will be delivered on 28 April, connected and then testing will begin, power may be available from the afternoon of 28 April. Power is scheduled to be available from 30 April. Please ensure you are self-sufficient before then in case of delay before 30 April.
- Toilets -A toilet will be open for use on the Lower Pit Road from 01 March 2025. Additional toilets will be made available from 1 May.
- Transporter Parking Area – Please do not park any vehicles in the Transporter Parking Area from Wednesday, 30 April onwards.
EVENT ACCREDITATION
- Access to the Event grounds will be controlled from Friday, 2 May – Sunday, 4 May.
- No Accreditation is required for Build or Strike (except for those requiring access to the Simola Estate – see BUILD AND STRIKE section below for details)
- Please ensure all staff are accounted for in your Accreditation Request Form, which should be submitted to your relevant KSF contact no later than 8 April 2025. You can access the form here.
- Accreditation will be available for collection from the Welcome Centre during the week of the event, collection details will be shared with the relevant contact person from your company.
- Please ensure staff have their wristbands on their arms before entering the event grounds daily and that your Vehicle Access Pass is stuck to the inside of your windscreen.

Branding Installation Deadlines:
Track Branding: 17h00 on Wednesday, 30 April
All other branding: 17h00 on Thursday, 1 May.
Partners with Track Branding – please be reminded to arrange a meeting with the COC prior to set up of on-track branding. Exact placement of all TRACK branding is subject to the approval of the COC who will consult with the Safety Officer. Please also consult the Live Stream team to ensure the angle and placement of your branding is visible on the Live Stream.

BUILD AND STRIKE IN THE SIMOLA ESTATE
Contractors will be allowed access to the Simola Estate for build and strike during weekdays. No access will be granted on Weekends or Public Holidays. Please plan your build schedule accordingly.

Access to the estate will be controlled by means of QR codes and each member of your team will be required to produce their QR code for scanning upon entry to the estate.
QR codes can be obtained via email from the Simola HOA from 31 March 2025 onwards.
How to apply for Access QR codes:
Prior to your arrival on site, please fill in SIMOLA HILLCLIMB ACCESS APPLICATION FORM.
Once you have completed the form, please send it directly to Nadia (access@hoa.co.za), along with the following documents for each of your staff members listed on the form:
- ID Document / Passport
- 1 x head and shoulder image (saved in .jpeg format)
- Email address
- Contact number
Once processed, all QR codes will be emailed to the primary onsite contact for your company.
Please share the following information with emma@speedfestival.co.za to pass on to the HOA:
- Dates for which access will be required
- Primary On-site Contact: Name, Surname, Email Address and Contact Number
STRIKE- ALL AREAS:
Due to the event grounds being in a residential area suppliers will NOT be allowed to strike after 18h30 on Sunday, 4 May.
Strike may proceed from 08h00 on Monday, 5 May.
