The rain subsided a bit for the second practice but the 1.9 km Simola Hill remains very wet, with the cars throwing up long rooster trails of spray and exploring various lines to find decent grip. Reghard Roets topped the P2 timesheet by going 5 seconds faster than his opening run, at 43.760 sec.
Franco Scribante also improved his time, by 2.5 sec on 44.039 sec. Byron Mitchell was the quickest single-seater in his Formula VW (45.634 sec), with Andre Bezuidenhout going out for his first run in the 2007 Gould GR55 with a time of 46.868 sec.
