The eighth annual Jaguar Simola Hillclimb got underway in Knysna today with Classic Car Friday setting the tone for an action-packed three days of racing.
Already renowned as South Africa’s premier motorsport event, the Jaguar Simola Hillclimb just gets better and more spectacular every year. And this is certainly the case for the 2017 event, scheduled from 5 to 7 May, which is expected to garner a whole new level of competition and spectator interest following the adoption of three separate King of the Hill categories and respective titles up for grabs.

Charles Arton, driving a 1979 March 79B Formula Atlantic race car, was crowned Classic Conqueror for 2015 on the opening day of the Jaguar Simola Hillclimb.
The winner of the Classic Conqueror title at the Jaguar Simola Hillclimb in Knysna is Franco Scribante, who claimed the title behind the wheel of a Chevron B19 – creating more than a bit of a stir in the process.
