The eighth annual Jaguar Simola Hillclimb got underway in Knysna today with Classic Car Friday setting the tone for an action-packed three days of racing.
Already renowned as South Africa’s premier motorsport event, the Jaguar Simola Hillclimb just gets better and more spectacular every year. And this is certainly the case for the 2017 event, scheduled from 5 to 7 May, which is expected to garner a whole new level of competition and spectator interest following the adoption of three separate King of the Hill categories and respective titles up for grabs.
Franco Scribante wrote his name into the Jaguar Simola Hillclimb record books today by becoming the first-ever double winner of Classic Car Friday (CCF).
The Jaguar Simola Hillclimb is already regarded as the premier event on South Africa’s motorsport calendar. It is now set to gain even more illustrious status with the introduction of new trophies inspired by two of SA’s top motorsport legends, as well as the creation of the all-new honorary position of Grand Marshal.
