Variable conditions persisted during the second qualifying session, with several of the top contenders electing to remain in the pits, including Andre Bezuidenhout who had already posted a rapid 44.355 seconds in Q1.
Franco Scribante returned to the fray after the team completed hasty repairs to the Chevron B19, but his time of 53.816 seconds in the wet placed him second for the session – around 8 seconds off the fastest times from Q1.
Rui Campos topped the time sheets for Q2 on 52.439 seconds, with Gavin Rooke third in his 1973 Porsche 911, ahead of Craig Wessels (Porsche 911 RSR IROC), Roy Obery (Porsche 924 GTP) and Jandre Bezuidenhout (Porsche 944 Turbo Cup).
