The 16th edition of the Simola Hillclimb is officially underway! The Classic Car Friday competitors have completed the opening practice run in perfect sunny and clear conditions, setting the scene for a fantastic day of action on the 1.9 km Simola Hill course.
Franco Scribante – the most successful Classic Car Friday competitor to date – has set the initial benchmark, posting the fastest time in P1 of 44.364 seconds in his Chevron B19 – already almost a tenth of a secondf quicker than Charles Arton’s winning time from last year’s event.
2022 winner Ian Schofield was second (46.825 sec) in his March 77B, 1.067 seconds ahead of 2023 Classic Conqueror Andre Bezuidenhout in his Lola T460 – so it’s already a battle of the champions at the sharp end of the field!
