Franco Scribante has slashed two seconds off his P1 time in the second practice (42.383 sec), with the running order remaining unchanged for the top 3 – Ian Schofield in second (43.788 sec) and Andre Bezuidenhout going three seconds quicker.
With a significant portion of the 1.9 km Simola Hilllclimb having been retarred from last year, and temperatures increasing, the times will undoubtedly continue tumbling.
Dawie Joubert (Lotus Elise), who was fourth quickest in P1 went off the track briefly in the Esses in P2 with the engine cover flying off, but soon got going again and the car appears to be unharmed. Craig Czank (Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R) lost 4WD on his run, and had to complete the session in rear-wheel drive only.
