Practice has concluded for the 2026 King of the Hill challenge at the Simola Hillclimb. Going into the lunchtime break at entertainment, Robert Wolk leads the charge in the Gould GR55 with his best time so far on 36.299 seconds. This is still just over two seconds off Andre Bezuidenhout’s official current record of 34.161 seconds, and there is plenty interest to see if he can match or beat the fastest-ever time on the 1.9 km Simola Hill.
Rui Campos (Shelby CanAm) was second in the single-seater category on 42.940 seconds, followed by Connor Kilbride in the Ligier (43.910 sec).
Reigning Modified Saloon Car champion Pieter Zeelie (Toyota MR2) is finding his groove, and slotted into second place overall and first in the class on 38.918 seconds. His winning time and class record from last year is 37.090 seconds.
Silvio Scribante went fourth-hundredths quicker than P3 in the Audi RS3 (39.588 sec), followed by Aldo Scribante in the Audi TT with his fastest run (40.803 sec). Steve Clark lost about 0.5 sec from his previous run (42.313 sec). Franco Scribante saw his time being deleted for clipping a track limits marker.
Clint Weston remains at the top of the standard production category and sixth in the overall times (42.834 sec) in the Mercedes-AMG entry, ahead of Cristiano Verolini (45.305 sec) in the BMW M4 and Jens Klingmann (46.227 sec) in the BMW M5.
