Things are getting serious at the Simola Hillclimb’s King of the Hill challenge, as the first of the qualifying sessions has been completed.
Robert Wolk went quicker yet again at 35.662 seconds, but his time was deleted for exceeding track limits. This placed Pieter Zeelie at the top of the leader board for Q1 on 38.747 seconds – his fastest time so far today.
Franco Scribante was second on 39.228 seconds, ahead of Silvio Scribante (39.725 sec) and Aldo Scribante on 40.780 seconds. Steve Clark was fifth in the Modified Saloon Car category on 41.426 seconds.
Devin Robertson was the top-placed Class C competitor in the Radical Pro Sport (41.023 sec), ahead of Connor Kilbride in the Ligier (42.345 sec), and yesterday’s Classic Car Friday winner Ian Schofield in the Formula Ford (42.808 sec).
Mercedes-AMG driver Clint Weston remains unchallenged thus far in the standard production car category (42.273 sec), ahead of Cristiano Verolini in the BMW M4 (44.159 sec) and Jens Klingmann on 45.610 seconds (BMW M5).
